A mature operations team treats procedure control as a living system. SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs should be owned, reviewed, versioned, and linked back to actual plant behavior so the documents do not drift away from the site.
- Assign a clear owner for each document.
- Review after incidents, commissioning, and major plant changes.
- Track revisions so old instructions do not remain in circulation.
- Train the team against the current version, not a memory of the last one.
That governance layer is what turns procedures into operating leverage. It keeps the library useful and gives leadership confidence that the response model is not just documented, but actually maintained.
